Privacy Policy

How GloTrade Handles Data Across Global Trade Operations.

Transparency on what we collect, why we collect it, and how it moves across the markets we operate in.

Last updated: 3 September 2026

1. Who We Are

This Privacy Policy is issued by Global Trade Development LLC, operating as GloTrade ("GloTrade", "we", "us", "our"), a global trade infrastructure platform connecting businesses, investors, governments, and institutions. It applies to glotrade.co, all GloTrade subdomains, portals, Deal Room and Clusters environments, forms, events, newsletters, and any other service that links to this policy (collectively, the "Platform").

2. Scope and Acceptance

By accessing the Platform, submitting a form, applying for access to the Deal Room, registering interest in a country cluster, subscribing to communications, or otherwise engaging with GloTrade, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this policy and consent to the collection, processing, transfer, and use of your information as described here. If you do not agree, you must discontinue use of the Platform.

3. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

  • Identity and contact data — name, job title, organisation, country, email address, telephone number, and correspondence you send us.
  • Commercial and transactional data — sector, mandate, ticket size, investment appetite, deal descriptions, sourcing or offtake requirements, project documents, and other information you supply in Deal Room, Clusters, partnership, or programme submissions.
  • Due diligence and compliance data — corporate registration details, ownership and control information, sanctions and politically-exposed-person screening results, and other information required to satisfy anti-money-laundering, counter-terrorist-financing, export control, and know-your-counterparty obligations.
  • Technical data — IP address, device and browser type, language preference, referring URLs, pages viewed, and session activity collected through cookies and similar technologies.
  • Third-party data — information lawfully obtained from public registries, market data providers, chambers of commerce, partner institutions, and referral sources.

4. How and Why We Use Your Information

GloTrade processes information to operate and facilitate global trade, capital, and market access operations. Specifically, we use it to:

  • facilitate trade, sourcing, distribution, investment, and market entry — including matching your requirements with counterparties, buyers, suppliers, investors, project owners, advisors, and institutions in our network, in any jurisdiction;
  • evaluate, structure, verify, and administer opportunities submitted to the Deal Room, Clusters, and GloTrade programmes;
  • produce aggregated and de-identified market intelligence, trade analytics, country and sector reports, and benchmarking insights, which may be published or shared commercially;
  • deliver services and communications you request, including events, trade missions, Tradecast media, GloTrade Institute programmes, and newsletters;
  • conduct screening, verification, risk management, fraud prevention, and compliance with applicable law;
  • secure, maintain, personalise, and improve the Platform, including translation, performance, and accessibility features;
  • establish, exercise, or defend legal claims and enforce our terms.

5. Legal Bases for Processing

Where data protection law such as the EU/UK GDPR applies, we rely on: performance of a contract or steps taken at your request; our legitimate interests in operating a global trade infrastructure platform, developing our network, and protecting the Platform; compliance with legal obligations including sanctions, tax, and financial-crime rules; and consent where required, for example for marketing communications and non-essential cookies. Consent may be withdrawn at any time without affecting prior processing.

6. Disclosure and Sharing

Global trade requires information to move between parties. We may disclose your information to:

  • counterparties, investors, buyers, suppliers, project sponsors, and institutional partners where disclosure is necessary to progress an opportunity you have submitted or expressed interest in;
  • GloTrade affiliates, regional operations, advisors, and authorised representatives;
  • service providers acting on our instructions — hosting, analytics, translation, email, CRM, screening, and professional advisors;
  • regulators, government agencies, courts, or law enforcement where required by law or necessary to protect our rights, users, or the integrity of the Platform;
  • a successor entity in connection with a merger, acquisition, or restructuring.

GloTrade does not sell personal information for advertising purposes. Sensitive transaction documents shared inside the Deal Room are released only to parties who have been vetted and, where applicable, have accepted confidentiality undertakings.

7. International Transfers

GloTrade operates across North America, South America, Africa, Europe, Asia, and Oceania. Your information will be transferred to and processed in countries that may not provide the same level of data protection as your own. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses, adequacy decisions, or equivalent contractual protections. By using the Platform you acknowledge that cross-border transfer is inherent to the services you are requesting.

8. Cookies, Analytics, and Translation

We use strictly necessary cookies to operate the Platform and optional cookies for analytics, preference storage, and language translation. Our language switcher relies on a third-party translation service, which may process page content and a language preference cookie to render translated text. Machine translations are provided for convenience only; the English version of all GloTrade content prevails in the event of any discrepancy. You can manage cookies through your browser settings, though some features may stop working.

9. Data Retention

We retain information for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this policy, maintain the integrity of our trade and investment records, satisfy legal, regulatory, accounting, and reporting requirements, and defend legal claims. Deal and compliance records are typically retained for a minimum period required by applicable financial-crime legislation. Aggregated or de-identified data may be retained indefinitely.

10. Security

We apply administrative, technical, and organisational safeguards including encryption in transit, access control, role-based permissions on the Deal Room and administrative dashboards, logging, and vetting of vendors. No system is completely secure, and you submit information at your own risk. You are responsible for safeguarding any credentials issued to you and for the accuracy and lawfulness of information you submit about third parties.

11. Your Rights

Subject to applicable law, you may request access to, correction of, deletion of, or restriction on the processing of your personal information; object to processing based on legitimate interests; request portability; and withdraw consent. Requests may be sent to info@glotrade.co. We may verify your identity before acting and may decline requests where retention is legally required or where deletion would prejudice an ongoing transaction, investigation, or legal claim.

12. Confidentiality of Submitted Opportunities

Information submitted through the Deal Room, Clusters, and partnership channels is treated as commercially sensitive. However, submission does not, by itself, create a confidentiality, agency, fiduciary, brokerage, or advisory relationship. Do not submit material you are not permitted to share, and do not submit information subject to third-party restrictions without the required authorisation. GloTrade accepts no liability for unsolicited disclosures.

13. Children

The Platform is intended for business, institutional, and professional users. It is not directed at individuals under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes in our services, technology, or legal obligations. The revised version takes effect when posted, and the "last updated" date above will change. Continued use of the Platform after posting constitutes acceptance.
